The new 2011 Harley-Davidson Sportster XR1200X motorcycle has retro Harley racing style, fully adjustable Showa motorcycle suspension, and dual disc motorcycle brakes that have high performance and a sleek design. These motorcycle brakes feature 4-piston fixed calipers out front, grabbing on floating rotors for superior stopping power. Keeping your mind clear and soaking up the freedom of the open road means not fretting about your ride. The fully adjustable front and rear Showa suspension allows you to set compression, rebound, and spring pre load based on your weight. The Harley Sportster XR1200X engine is a reliable 1200 cc Evolution rubber mounted machine. The XR 750-inspired fuel tank cover with retro graphics echo the bike's flat track racing heritage giving the XR1200X a truly unique style for the road, while the fully adjustable Showa motorcycle suspension make the Harley XR1200X motorcycle a serious ride. Authentic Styling

Blacked-out look: The agile XR1200X motorcycle is draped in a satin black finish for a menacing look. From the black powder-coated engine and straight-shot, high-performance exhaust to the upside-down forks, and the black cast aluminum wheels with orange rim highlight that jet the bike into a whole new era of race-inspired motorcycles--the XR1200X embraces the dark side while paying homage to the old school flat tracker that inspired its style and ease of handling.
XR 750-inspired fuel tank: The fuel tank on the XR1200X model is integrated with the air intake underneath the XR 750-inspired fuel tank cover. Throwback graphics echo the bike's flat tracker heritage and hundreds of championships won while giving the XR1200X a truly unique style for the road.

Evolution® engine heritage: The Evolution® engine--known in certain crowds as the Blockhead--was first bolted to the frame of a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle back in 1984. Born from legendary Shovelhead and Ironhead engines, the Evolution® engine broke new ground in displacement innovation while maintaining the hunger for power, durability and proven reliability that The Motor Company was built on.
Evolution® engine innovation: Air-cooled and durable as hell, the 1200cc Evolution® engine is yet another nod to the unwavering work ethic that drives advancements in motor technology at Harley-Davidson®. Aluminum heads and cylinders lighten the load of the bike and improve air-cooling efficiency. Electronic fuel injection says goodbye to carburetors and boasts increased reliability and less routine maintenance. Bottom line: the rubber-mounted Evolution® engine runs hard and rides smooth for thousands of miles so you can just worry about taking in the freedom of the open road.
Pure Harley-Davidson® styling: Feast your eyes on the 1200cc Evolution® engine and there's no mistaking its roots. Artfully hidden technology: Harley-Davidson® leverages the latest in technology without compromising style and function. That means we hide electronics. The whole wiring harness is skillfully routed behind the jewels of the bike--the tank, engine and all the other eye-popping features you want to see. It's just another way The Motor Company goes the extra mile to give its bikes that premium, top-of-the-line fit and finish.
Intuitive controls: Hand controls on a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle are incredibly intuitive. The turn signals are self-canceling and, based on the speed and angle of the motorcycle, they know how long to stay on. Engaging the controls quickly becomes second nature so you can focus less on turning off your signal and more on basking in the freedom of the ride.
H-D® Smart Security System (optional): The factory installed next-generation security system features a hands-free fob that automatically arms and disarms the vehicle electronic security functions as you approach and walk away from the bike. Stick the fob on your ignition key ring and let it do all the work. It's this attention to details and security that make Harley-Davidson® motorcycles unique.

Handling

Wide low-rise handlebar: The race-inspired wide, low-rise handlebar on the XR1200X model is black, fat and menacing like the rest of the bike. Despite its progressive styling, the handlebar was designed with performance top of mind. Optimal leverage with the steering geometry to provide superb control and a natural, fun riding position. Let your hands fall on the grips and take off on the journey of a lifetime.
Adjustable Showa® suspension: Front and rear fully adjustable Showa® suspension allows you to set compression and rebound dampening, along with spring preload based on your weight and riding preference. The 43mm inverted, big piston front forks is the latest in performance bike technology and helps you swallow corners and whatever the road dishes out with ease and great agility.
Dual disc front brakes: High performance, sleek design--the dual disc brakes feature 4-piston fixed calipers out front, grabbing on floating rotors for superior stopping power. Keeping your mind clear and soaking up the freedom of the open road means not fretting about your ride. Especially when it comes to stopping.
Dunlop® Qualifier tires: Treads tough and sticky enough for the track, Dunlop® Qualifier tires are constructed of race-quality belts and blends that offer a hugging grip and quick, precise performance you want on the road. Front tire profile allows for quick, clean turns and lighter steering.
Tuned to be ridden: Harley-Davidson® motorcycles are different from any other bike out on the road. There's a balance to them. The steering, the maneuverability--it's all in concert.
